How to take clear coat off of base coat?

I have a question on clear coat. I painted clear coat on on whole side of my car its very messed up now so I just wanted to know if theres any way to take clear coat off of the base coat of body?

Light sanding and buff, repeat until ugly clear-coat is gone. it will take a lot of pacience but it can be done (Had to do this on an old TR-6 I used to own)
