Passivation Alternative to Sodium Dichlorate
In the passivating of 4043 stainless steel. Is there an alternate to sodium dichromate? or an alternate method of passivation that meets SAE- AMSQQP35
[canceled], type II passivation?

There is no way to "get around" the Military standard! Either you process to or not. Type II per the QQP does require sodium dichromate. Period. Although other standards do offer alternatives, the Mil-Spec does not.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone for I'd love to avoid the use of it as well!

If not being held to a mil spec is there another chemical that will promote oxidation in the same way on stainless steel or Inconel?
