Voltage for Cr stripping
In the electrolysis process the electrolyte for striping Cr from steel can be NaOH or HCl, as you said. What is the optimum voltage for that process? How important is it that the voltage is precise as optimum is or if it is higher or lower?

First of two simultaneous responses --
Stripping of chrome in HCl is not an electrolytic process, it is an immersion process. Do not apply current in the acid.
The reverse current stripping of chrome in an NaOH solution should be performed at 6 volts. It works very well.

Second of two simultaneous responses --
NaOH.............100-150 gr temp.25-35 C/4-6V, steel cathode.
Good luck!
