"P-ratio" and "Nickel Adhesion Volume" for zinc phosphate

(1999)

My customer has requested verification of "nickel adhesion volume" and "P-ratio" (a relationship between the iron phosphate to iron phosphate+zinc phosphate). It appears to be a Japanese requirement, but I have not found a procedure for either of these tests. Anyone have an idea on what these tests are and where I might get a standard specification on them?

Hi, Bob. I haven't heard the phrase "nickel adhesion volume". Could it be just an accidental morph from the simple phrase "nickel adhesion value"? There are ASTM adhesion tests.

As for "P-ratio", readers have given a good introduction in letter 34262. Good luck.
