Looking for mil spec, Mil-C-5541

I am trying to find a copy of MIL-C-5541. Could any one help me?

This specification is for chromate conversion coating of aluminum. Some people call it Iriditing or Alodining, which are two trade names for the conversion coating chemicals. We've hotlinked your request to a source. Good luck.

Why use your credit card when you can download the spec for free! MIL and federal specs among others can be downloaded for free from a US government site, http://astimage.daps.dla.mil . You have to register in order to receive an account no. and password, but after a few days you are set up to download PDF files.

No wonder American small business finds it hard to compete. Our government taxes our own small businesses to provide our off-shore competition with free tools to make sure their costs are lower than ours. smiley face

Mil Specs can also be downloaded for free at http://www.dtic.mil/stinet/str/dodiss4_fields.html . Good luck!

Ted, we also tried those URLs and failed to download any Mil spec. Can you please recheck it as we here tried from three different computers. Maybe after it was recommended at finishing.com everybody tried to download free Mil specs and they decided to put an end to it...-):

Hi, Sara. You needn't worry about beltway bandit welfare programs coming to an end! The bandits make big campaign donations, then the politicians reward them with grants so they can make bigger donations. It's a neat little closed system. I'd guess that the reason the address keeps changing is because the government is carpet bombing the grant mills with so much money they just can't keep up with it :-)

But it has proven impractical to keep ever-changing addresses current when scattered across 60,000 threads here, so we've put the working address at a central place, our FAQs page, and we are keeping it current there.
