Rajeev, Zinc phosphate coating is the proven pre-treatment coating for improving the adhesion of organic top coats over steel and aluminium. It is also a good pre-treatment for powder coatings.
Zinc phosphate coating on steel can be obtained using a formulation that contains a zinc salt, phosphoric acid and an accelerator. The deposition temp. is around 90-95 deg.C. The time for paint base coating is about 30 second to 2 minutes.
Many commercial formulations are available in the market.
