Transparent colors to go over chrome plating
Hello! I'm looking for a supplier of translucent colors that can be coated over chrome to give a metallic color tone. I know basic blue and red are available in 5 gallon containers. I was told a company called Scwartz sells it in Toronto. I'm sure there must be a place in the US.
I'd really like to get pastel colors for toys I will be plating for Easter. Pink light blue, light green would be nice.
Please let me know if you know a supplier.
Thanks,

Hi, Mac. Chrome plating is notoriously difficult to get good adhesion onto. I think you would be better off with chrome-like paint. This usually involves a base coat, followed by a layer with tiny metal flake designed to give a chrome-like shine, followed by a top coat which can be translucent to achieve the colors you seek. The banner ad at the bottom of the page will lead you to suppliers.
