E-paint vs. Powder Coating

When using Aluminum (6061 for ex.), how would powder coating compare with e-phoretic painting in term of resistance to abrasion, scratches, peeling, flaking, etc.? If I have a small Aluminum box (2 x 4 x 6")which will be subjected to very rough handling (dents, scratches), which of the 2 processes will give me a better chance of surviving the test? I know that anodizing is most durable, but it cannot be used in this case because the box is made by welding 2 halves together at final assembly and will contain electronics then. To anodize before final assembly ---> hard to weld at final assy due to the alumina. To anodize after final assembly ---> may destroy the electronics inside the box. Thank you for any info.

Paint people help me out here, but don't we need the formula of the paint, rather than the method of application? I would choose a rubbery formula for a small box of electronics that will be hacky-sacked around.
