Blackening the silver articles

Can anyone provide us a formulation to blackening the silver articles with an adherent finish. Thanks in advance for any help. TEOH MENG SOON

Platinum dissolved in aqua regia will give the deepest and longest lasting blacks, according to a chemical formulary from 1940. The color range being from soft gray to deep black, with the black being the most expensive to apply.
