Is it okay to paint a newly installed metal roof?

We just had a metal roof installed less than a week ago and hate the color. We thought the color would look good, but it is absolutely appalling. Is it okay to paint a new metal roof and if so how long will the paint last. Also, what is the best paint to use? Please help!

Yes it is ok to paint a metal roof. As for what to use? There are a number of commercialy availble paints made exactly for tin, copper, or other metal roofing materials. Stop by a paint store, (dupont or whatever), and see what they have for you.

Some can be painted and some only with great difficulty. If you have a baked on kynar surface, it will be nearly as difficult as painting on rough teflon.

Calbar Roof Paint is a product that has been around for ages and is designed specifically for painting metal roofs.
