HF Analysis

IS there an analysis for HF with presence of Sodium Dichromate and Sulfuric? (Our solution is called Tri-acid Etch.HF

Tri acid etch is three acids. Dichromate is not an acid, so what is the missing acid. Do a search of the letters at this site for the last 3 years. Methods are discussed with + and - talked about for each. Acids containing dichromate were not discussed to the best of my memory. Are you possibly talking about a chrome plating bath. If you are, switch to a self regulating bath where frequent analysis is not required and the MFG provides instruction for testing or will test samples for you on a monthly basis.

In general, to analyze for HF in a mixed acid bath, you will need to analyze for fluoride ion. Do a search for fluoride analysis on this site and you will find specific and detailed information.
