Silver plated connecter pins outdoors

Can silver plated connector pisn be used for connector which are meant for outdoor application? ... as silver plating are prone to oxidation (it forms silver oxide) -

in such case will the electrical performance of the connector be degraded or will such formation of oxide of silver in long run corrode the pins and damage the connectivity between pins (male and female) It will be very kind of you if you can answer to my queries .
