Insufficient cleaning of emulsion oil

2004

We are in the business of cold rolling and tin plating (electroplating). We often find that there are emulsion oil stains on the tinplated sheets inspite of input oil content of sheet being very low (70 mg/sq meter). The cleaning facility of steel is by NaOH without any mechanical arrangement.

what could be the possible reasons for this.

Thank you.

Dear Mr.Mishra,

The NAOH is probably causing the problem. Pl try to use a mild alkaline cleaner or a weak solution of citric acid [on eBay or Amazon] .
