Cleaning and protecting gold plated surfaces

2004

Hi guys!

I have two problems. I would like to know how can I clean and maintain a gold plated surface (metal base). How can I clean the surface in order not to damage the gold plated surface? Is there any way to cover a gold plated surface with something that will seal and protect it and also increase the life of it?

Thanks and all the best,

Your question is too abstract to get a useful answer, Lorenzo. Is the gold plated surface the dome of a public building, or a reed switch that must carry current, or a gold charm?
