Embrittlement Relief After Black Oxidation
Hardened steel parts (aerospace rods, SAE 8740, 42 HRc) after black oxide deposition (according to MIL-DTL-13924
[⇦ this spec on DLA] class 1), require an hydrogen relief treatment (135 °C for 24h). According to AMS2759/9, what atmosphere is required during baking? Air? Oil ?

First of two simultaneous responses --
I don't recognize your AMS2759/9 - but normally Hydrogen De-embrittlement is performed in air.

Second of two simultaneous responses --
SAE AMS2759/9 requires the temperature to be 375 °F (191 °C) not
135 °C. It also requires a circulating air type furnace. The atmosphere is not specified.
