I am working in a plating company as a process engineer. Lately we have encounter peel-off problems on our nickel plated products. I been searching for the possible cause but still our problem continue. I would like to ask help, some tips or solution to our plating problem.

It could be a great many things or a combination of all of them. I would buy the small book, Trouble in Your Tank by Durney. Get the second edition [1996] as it contains more info than the first. [Ed. note: good luck finding any edition anywhere; we are presently unable to find a source new or used]

Dear Fritze,
Could you please let me know the detail of your process sequence so that I can advise some of checking point.

We also observed same peel off problem recently and it was gone after trouble shooting.

First of all, Please check the pretreatment process and rinse step if you hold longer time after electrolytic degreasing before Cu strike plating if you have.

Second, Please check the basic chemical between electrlytic degreasing bath and Cu strike bath.

It would be help to you.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
