Will barrel plating give me uniform thickness?

I have been cadmium plating various parts.

Sometimes, it is really hard to get uniform plating thickness on small parts like bushing, ring or something. And, I have to frequently measure their thickness during process.

I was told that Barrel plating makes uniform thickness for many small parts.

1) Is that true ? If I install barrel plating system, then I would no longer worry about uniformity of plating thickness ?

2) Is there any problem I have to consider ?
