Anti bacteria finishing processes

I am interested to learn about anti bacteria finishing processes for either wet spray or powder coating of products for use in hospitals and the food industry. The process needs to kill bacteria on a continuing basis on the finished surface

Hi John,

"Antibacterial" wet or powder coatings contain silver to kill the bacteria. Silver can kill off over 600 types of bacteria can continues to kill the bacteria for a number of years. This coating is used for coating hospital equipment and food industry equipment.

Hope this helps.

Dear John,

Just a cautionary word of advice - there is a company who hold a world patent on thermo setting powders containing "Antibacterial" properties.

They vigorously pursue any attempt to copy their property and I understand that a court case with a very large powder mfgr. is in process.
