Excess zinc defect on the galvanized strip surface

adv. pointer   western technologies banner  gunatit builders banner

2004

Dears,

Kindly be informed that we have excess zinc on the strip surface in the form of short longitudinal lines (the length of a line is around 5 cm) these lines appear along the length of the coils. This defect appears in the high gauges only and in the hot rolled coils which are processed without rolling. It was noticed that there are hot rolling scales in the incoming hot rolled material. We believe that this may be the reason but we aren't sure. We want to know the universal name of this defect, its reasons and recommendation to overcome it.
