Brass and stainless railings near the ocean

2004

I'm an architect with a project (near the ocean) that includes ornamental railings at an exterior ramp and stair. It's basically a brass handrail connected with stainless steel (316) couplings and attached with finish screws. Has anyone seen a similar detail? Is there a protective coating for the brass that would limit galvanization? How about using a brass which has an anodic index closer to that of the SS? Is this a bad idea in general? If you have any input, it would be appreciated.
