Yellow Stains On Nickel Plated Strips

2004

I have some plating problems in surfacing nickel on High Carbon Steel Strips (5.5x0.30mm)

Somtimes we encounter yellowish stains or yellow deposits on the surface after drying in a centrifugal drier. 98% of production comes very clean, but the remaining 2% needs to be rewashed and only then the yellow stains are gone. This process hampers our production severely.

Please can you guide me to a solution as to what or where we may be going wrong?

Thanks

Use better rinsing before the dryer and consider a lower temp (longer drying period is a negative result) drying.

Add antipit at 2 ml/ltr. liquid in the last rinse prior to drying.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
