Antique dealer asks if object from 1900 could be Mazac

Do you have any information as to when Mazac was first invented as an alloy. I have an object dated 1900 which I have been told is made of Mazac and I wish to confirm that it could have been made of this material at that time.

Many thanks,

Zinc based alloy objects are not rarity, even in second half of 19. century.

Good luck!
