Etching of injection molds for leather graining

Dear sir;

In Turkey I manufacture nickel & copper electroform molds for plastic and rubber injection molds. I try to make trims (leather grainings, etc.) onto the surface of the molds, but its very hard to fit the polyester film onto complex shapes. Do I need a special type of a film or another method?
