Zinc Tin Alloy Powder

(1999)

I am looking for someone who can supply zinc and tin alloy metal powder, with a grain size of about 5 micron, that is suitable for mechanical plating onto steel. The alloy needs to be 75% zinc and 25% tin. Please note that I am not looking for zinc and tin powder that I can mix together, but powder that has been made from the zinc/tin alloy. If you cannot help with the powder supply, perhaps you can advise on how to make it myself.

Try MacDermid, who sell mechanical plating supplies [Ed. note: or Plating Systems & Technologies who do likewise].

Since the technique is not obvious, it would be quite sporting of someone to tell you how to make it. However, a good literature and patent search should provide more than enough information for a lifetime of work.
