I have a lot of platinum in the form of platinum/5% gold sheets and want to plate it onto clips made of a nickel/chrome alloy.
I do not have a lot of experience in finishing and would appreciate fairly detailed help if possible.Timothy Beaton

It would probably be best to start by reading the "platinum plating" chapters of a couple of the guide books, as well as the sections on preparation of this substrate for plating. There is often an assumption among those who "do not have a lot of experience in finishing" that all you need to do is add the right acid and maintain the correct temperature and voltage. But in reality, electroplating is far more complex than that.
