Looking for fatigue data for 6061-T6
If anyone could assist me in finding S-N or similar curves for 6061-T6 I would appreciate it I have not had any success even after much searching.

Hi Martin, I use a website on a semi-regular basis, its got material data for a good portion of metals, plastics...etc etc. www.matls.com Try it out if you haven't they are constantly expanding and might have the information you are looking for.Matthew Stiltner

I saw some basic composition material there, but no S-N curves or depth of detail approaching what you need. I am very confident, however, that ASM (www.asm-intl.com) has textbooks for sale which contain the curves you need.
Tomorrow's web methods may be different, and it may become appropriate at some point to design stuff based on web data--but I sure hope that people are only using the web for pointers in the direction of data sources, and that nobody is actually using it for design data!

Hey, Martin, go to RMIT Swanston Street Library. In the Folio section under FOL620.186S399 is a book with the title "Material Data of High-Strength Aluminium Alloys for Durability Evaluation of Structures". The SN data that you're after is on page 54. Another source is Mil-HDBK-5H [link by ed. to spec at TechStreet].Anne Loh
