Friction Coefficients for hardcoat anodizing and chrome plated steel?
I am in the process of designing a linear motor for a new R&D; application and I have a question regarding friction coefficients for hard coat anodized aluminum and for chrome plated steel.
If I have a 0.125" OD shaft that is made from 6061-T6 and is hard coat anodized, what would you expect the friction coefficient to be if the finish is a 4, 8, 16, or 32?
Also, what would you expect the coefficient to be if the shaft is made from chrome plated 12L14 and has the same micro finishes?
