Where to get Copper Nitrate

Where can I find copper nitrate [affil links]? Can anyone recommend something else to rust or patine mild steel... Thanks in advance...

Copper nitrate is available from chemical supply houses, but they may not wish to sell to artists, or have appropriate size containers for that purpose, since they probably usually ship palettes of four 55-gal drums.

For smaller quantities you might want to try Bryant Laboratory [Berkeley, CA]..

Any chemist can make you copper nitrate by dissolving copper wire in nitric acid.
