"Determining CN in Sodium Nitrite"

-----

2004

I'm being asked to determine trace levels of CN in solid sodium nitrite. Nitrite is an interferant in the colorimetric determination of CN and also reacts violently with conc sulfuric acid. How may I overcome these limitations?

Have you considered an ISE?

I did consider ISE. As it is, this is a one time analysis that was excepted without approval and the $$ we are able to charge is no where near the cost of an CN ISE.
