Contaminant parameters for hot dip galvanizing




Hi

I am working in hot dip galvanizing company. I wants some tips to control bath parameter of galvanizing bath ( iron. nickel. aluminum. lead . ) and what should be % of these during bath operating . and what is the role of these during coating.

Answers to your questions depend on may factors you have not given.

What are you galvanizing?, what is pretreatment? How are you fluxing? What grade of Zinc do you use? etc.

General guidelines though:
Fe as low as possible
Ni 0.6% if you want to control Sandelin effect.
Al <0.01% (added for brightness, but excess causes problems)
Pb about 1% (depends on using GOB or SHG zinc.)
