Leadfree/cadmium free and chrome free E. Nickel plating

2004

Q. I am currently a plater working in a plating shop. We are doing electroless nickel plating. As we need to comply to RoHS requirement, till now is there any chrome free chemical (post treatment) to substitute Sodium dichromate ? There is also staining issue after electroless (leadfree/cadmium free)plating. Please advice.

Thanks for your help.

Most suppliers of proprietary electroless nickel solution now have lead and cadmium free electroless nickel processes. Contact your favorite supplier. Note, it is difficult to replace lead. The replacements appear to be less stable and require very careful handling.
