Need chrome plated 42CrMo4 tubes

RFQ: Where can I find hard chromium plated tubes quenched and tempered in 42CrMo4.

Ed. note: This RFQ is outdated, but technical replies are welcome, and readers are encouraged to post their own RFQs. But no public commercial suggestions please ( huh? why?).

A. I think what you may need to do, cousin Carlo, is to find the tubing in the size and alloy you are looking for, and then independently contract with a plating jobshop to hard chrome plate it for you. I strongly doubt that anyone stocks tubing of this alloy already hard chrome plated.

A. Parker Steel Company stocks 42CrMo4 modified cold drawn round tubes in metric sizes. They are located in Toledo, Ohio USA. Their tubes are not chrome plated.
