"Finishing technique on 2 SS surfaces"

-----

2004

What is the best technique for "polishing"/"grinding" two stainless steel surfaces together in a way that when finished the 2 surfaces are identical and will not wear when contacting each other? One surface is a ball the other is a socket. The machined finish is to .4 microns and the initial tolerencing on the radii is .1mm.

You might want to try a company that specializes in grinding or lapping. There is a good one in that area.
