-----Finishes for Aluminum Ball Bearing Race
I have a AA6061-T6 machined inner and outer bearing race in which steel ball bearings ride. To improve the wear resistance of the race would a hard coat sulfuric acid anodize finish be recommended? Is there a maximum bearing load over which the anodize finish will begin to spall from the aluminum. Are there similar ball bearing applications that use anodizing for wear resistance? Comments are greatly appreciated.
Thank you.
