Finishing process for aluminum castings

2004

I'm researching suitable finishing processes (coatings, etc.) for aluminum castings that form part of pumps. The "ideal" description of the coating I require would be: Not to show fingerprints Non-chipping Fast application Cheap Environmentally friendly Look suitable for use in a scientific environment (i.e. To look more like a domestic appliance as opposed to an industrial machine) Could you please advise me of any suitable processes

Unusual word is causing some confusion on my part. Are you looking for a negative surface finish to the raw casting item or a positive protective coating?
