300 series passivation specification




I have been asked by our customer if we can quote on stainless fasteners with series 300 passivation. We have gone to our local stainless platers who have never heard of this spec. please can you offer a spec sheet.

If you look at ASTM A967 you will see that there are a variety of ways to passivate 300 series (which one?) stainless steel with either nitric acid or citric acid formulations.
