How to get 4Ra finish on 316 ss in a .020" dia thru hole
We have an opportunity to produce parts that include a .020" dia. hole ±.001" with a 4Ra finish. This is a thru hole in 316 SS. We have several CNC lathes, so creating the hole is not an isssue, just the finish. I am looking for sugestions on manufacturing and inspection equipment and processes.

YOU KNOW FOLKS, SIZE, SHAPE, QUANTITY AND MATERIAL DOES MATTER IN ANSWERING QUESTIONS! Didn't mean to take it out on the person who asked this question, but there are a lot of similarly stated questions. To answer this question, I can only make a guess again, because of the lack of detailed info; however, the RMS you indicated would tend to make me think you should look into lapping type equipment.
