Best ABS for electroless Cu/Ni plating

I just found this forum today! Does anyone know the best ABS injection molding grade for the double sided electroless-copper-nickel EMI plating process? Thanks, Sean

Most big name plastics manufacturers supply 'electroplating grade' ABS plastics specifically designed for electroless Ni or Cu plating. They are available from GE, Monsanto, Dow Chemicals and others. If you call their plastics divisions, you should be able to get the specifics. Best of luck from PlaterB

Our Group company is in POP business. We are using primarily Mitsubishi and GE ABS plastic. We are also doing E-Cu & EN plating for EMI Shielding. Some of the global mobile phone manufacturers like Motorola and Nokia have specified to use ABS/PC or PC plastic in lieu of ABS.
