-----Discolored stainless steel griddle cover
The stainless steel cover to my cook-top griddle was left on accidentally while the griddle was turned on to high for approx. 10-15 minutes. The stainless steel cover is now discolored on the top and the bottom. What do I use to remove this discoloration without scratching the stainless steel cover?
Thank you.

Is the discoloration black from soot, or is the metal blued from the heat. What you need to do depends on what discoloration is on it. If you take it to a metal finishing shop or plating shop they will be able to determine the problem and fix it. If it is something simple a good cleaner will handle it. Maybe oven cleaner ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] will work if it is carbon discoloration.
