-----Pool filter mfgr. needs cage coating for chlorine tablets
Has anyone used polyester resin mixed with a hardener to coat steel? We want to protect our filter cage from concentrated chlorine they use to purify pools and spas. We did not have a problem until tablets were actually put inside our filters' center core. Heavy rust appeared. Or, maybe you have another coating that will work. Must give us a two to three year life.
Thank you

I would look at a plastisol. A dip vinyl would be easier, but might not be as durable.

Bob,
What James says is l00% correct.
Not knowing the make-up of your filter, maybe, perhaps, who knows, you could use perforated PVC ... this has an open area of around 26%. But if you joined it into a cylinder, I'd use a 'sleeve' to join it together unless you know of a highly proficient thermoplastic welder.
Food for thought, anyhow.
