-----Bead blasting a PVD coating
We have some tungsten carbide PVD coated components that need to be cleaned and inspected prior to re-assembly. Most similar parts are hardened tool steel. Following an oven burn out, carbonized debris is normally removed by bead blasting.
Is it safe to bead blast the tungsten carbide coating with B GEN bead? Is there another recommended grade of abrasive media that won't erode the WC. I am told that the B GEN bead follows some government spec, but I am not familiar with the details.
