Q. How is silver zari (used in silk sari weaving for borders) gold plated? And could you provide a list of basic chemicals needed for making an immersion plating of gold on the metallic silk threads?

A. You can use next solution:

7 gm gold chloride
30 gm potassium ferrocyanide on eBay [affil link]
30 gm potassium carbonate
30 gm sodium chloride
1 lit water,95 °C temp., objects must be in contact with zinc or aluminum!

Good luck!
