What is "ABS card material"?





Q. Our company specialising in printing smart card. I read some documents and see a card material called "ABS". I don't understand what is "ABS" material? Could you explain detail more about it. Please send me soon your answer.

A. ABS is used as an abbreviation for two different plastics. The one you are probably referring to is 'Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene'. The other is 'Acetyl Butyl Stearate'. In the first one, the Acrylonitrile crosslinks the Styrene for toughness and the Butadiene supplies a rubber-like consistency. There are a variety of grades with different proportions of ingredients and additives for different properties. Try a WEB search for ABS PLASTIC.
