Removing nickel, chrome from cast iron cookware.

I collect cast iron cookware such as frying pans, dutch ovens and so on. Many times I buy those that have been chrome plated or plated with nickel. In most cases the plating is in real bad shape and I'd like to be able to remove the plating myself (if possible) or at least take it to someone that can do that kind of thing. And have the plating removed without damaging the cast iron. Any advice? I don't know if this can be done or not.

We have found the quickest and easiest way to remove nickel and chrome from an item is by means of a reverse electrolysis. The solution is made up of phosphoric, sulfuric acid and water.
