What kind of finish does this Prelude impart to the wood? Varnish, stone, marble, antique? -tom

If you haven't found this Prelude wood finish yet, it's made by General Finishes Corp in WI.

Good luck,

Clear Seal-a-Cell

(2004)

Thanx to another writer I WAS able to track down this item. It IS INDEED still made. The mfg. is General Finishes, New Berlin WI. I talked to a guy there - he says the formula is the same, but it is now marketed under the General Finishes label. Under "GF Oil Based products", it is not what they identify as "formerly Prelude"-- THAT is a pigmented stain / urethane. "Original Seal-A-Cell Clear" is what you want!

Dylan, I too used Prelude in Hawaii. I made custom furniture and I too have been looking for Prelude for years. Where did you find it?
Thanks, Bill Burgund
PS, I lived up in Hiku from 1979 to 1991.

Hi, Are you sure that it is Seal-a Cell, Clear? We used Prelude as a sealer and a top coat. This looks mostly like a sealer.

Does anybody have a phone# for General Finishes. There is no way to contact them form their website. Thanks, Bill
