Pretreatment process for brake pads

Q. Dear Sir, We may have a requirement for powder coating of automobile brake pads. We need assistance in identifying the correct pretreatment process for this since the brake linings are already fitted on the brake pads prior to powder coating. Any assistance will be appreciated. With regards, Harry

A. Dear Harry In your letter you did not mentioned the building material of those pads . If it is made of steel you have to make Zinc Phosphate pretreatment before painting becouse the pads will serve outdoor and in heavy duty conditions. I have experience with customer who did Manganese Phosphate coating and after , did not painted the pad just Oiled it . Yours Sincerely
