Finishing large sheets of aluminum

I have 2 sheets of unfinished aluminum that will make up the exterior of a high profile machine. The sheets are 120" x 72" and I am looking into a clear coat or an adequate alternative. Are there any durable finishes for sheeting and what prep work is involved.

Anodizing to maintain the clear appearance is one alternative possibility if you wish, although the sheets are two large for many anodizing shops. Chromate conversion coating before clear coating would probably be a good idea.
