Cleaning fluorescent hairspray off aluminum wheels

My daughter has an 87 Honda with Aluminum wheels. On graduation night 1 1/2 weeks ago, her brother and boyfriend "decorated" her car and sprayed her aluminum wheels with green and pink fluorescent hair spray. We got the green to come off, but the pink has left a pink tint on the aluminum wheels. Any ideas how to get it off?

If the wheels are bare polished aluminum you can simply go to Walmart and pick up aluminum polish in the automotive section. If the wheels are clear coated try a small area first lacquer thinner [on eBay or Amazon] and it should remove without hazing .

You can use acetone [on eBay or Amazon] or acetone/white spirit mixture(if wheels are anodized or only polished)!

Good luck!
