Plating gold onto copper mesh and stainless

2004

Hi,

Does anyone know the process how to plate gold over a copper wire mesh and Stainless steel 314?

Thanks.

You are trying to plate real parts, not hypothetical parts, Kayla, and that makes the answer dependent upon a lot of real-world details. Have you attempted it? If so, what can you tell us?

The following procedure should theoretically work:

Do a Wood's nickel strike on the stainless portion or the whole part, and then copper plate the assembly. Then nickel plate the assembly, then gold plate it. Good luck!
