-----PASSIVATION OF JOINTS OF ELECTRO POLISHED PIPES
Object of the question : To learn more as a student
Question : Does electropolished pipe require passivation after fabrication ?
STUDENT - AHMEDABAD, GUJARAT, India

An electropolished item should be electropolished after all fabrication work is completed. If that is not practical, as may be the case with a welded piping system, passivation is better than nothing.

There are excellent citric acid based products available that are used in tank farms and piping systems for the pharmaceutical, food and beverage industries that are safe and very effective. CIP systems are available for this purpose and are used by these industries very effectively. As always, the BEST system is to electropolish and then passivate.
